Message From The President

Fortunately for all of us, demand for lodging appears to be increasing on both the national and local levels. Our industry is witnessing a return of business travelers and growing demand from leisure visitors. With the slight improvement in the U.S. economy this year, we have noticed corresponding increases in occupancy and we hope to continue this growth into 2012. By working together we can revitalize the industry to pre-recession economic levels.

CLA will continue to collaborate with Halloran and Sage, the association’s lobbying firm, to promote positive legislative changes as a core goal of the organization’s agenda. We will continue to be a vocal and persuasive advocate for the industry. With solid support of the hoteliers, we can speak with a single voice to address the most critical issues facing our industry today. CLA wants to be part of the success of all of our member properties and will continue to offer educational session and frequent updates on legislative initiatives. Through our unity, the 3rd largest industry in the State of Connecticut will be recognized as a major player in the business community.
