Message From The President |
 |
While this past year has been another difficult one for us in the lodging industry, we're optimistic that the industry is showing signs of recovery. I hope that by working together we can Board to continue to revitalize the industry to pre-recession economic levels. In the upcoming year, CLA will continue its work with Halloran and Sage, the association's lobbying firm, to make positive changes as part of the organization's legislative agenda. We are going are going to continue to be a loud and vocal advocate for the industry.
Over the coming months we will maintain our efforts by providing relevant information to our members, acting as a force to be reckoned with in the legislative realm and working steadfastly to increase our membership. With the solid support of the hoteliers, large and small, we can speak with a single voice to address the most critical issues facing our industry today. We eagerly await the State's final budget for fiscal year 2012. With the proposed funding for tourism will greatly benefit the entire lodging and tourism industries. CLA will work with the new governor as well as the leadership in the legislature to rebuild our market share. It is essential to unite so the 3rd largest industry in the state of Connecticut is recognized as a major player in the business community. Increased membership will demonstrate a renewed commitment and confidence in the CLA to represent the lodging industry. So I hope you will assist us in our efforts to recruit new members as we move forward into this new stage of our organization. I am looking forward to working with and for you in 2011.
Sincerely,
Ken Jarka
President
